2021 has been an exciting year and what else would you expect from the proverbial “Year of Aquarius”. In a year jam packed with progress, inventions and new directions, you’d think we’d see this progress play out in our lives with so much resistance: CUE SATURN!
As you may know, the ruler of Aquarius, Uranus, has spent the majority of 2021 squaring off with the traditional Aquarian ruler, Saturn and this 90 degree angle has brought restrictions to progress for better and, at times, for worse.
The other sign that is similar to freedom-oriented Aquarius is none other than Sagittarius and on December 4th we will experience one of the most important astrological events of the year. Not only is this new moon powerful in its own right but this is a total solar eclipse which carries a much stronger energy signature than a normal new moon and it’s effects connect back in time and forward into the future.
At the time of this lunation, the sun and the moon will be forming a confusing quincunx (150 degree angle) to Uranus increasing feelings of anxiety and overstimulation but a supportive sextile (60 degree angle) to Saturn allows for more emotional stability as we maintain a more long term perspective.
This moon has a flare for independency, truth and uncompromising freedom of expression for not only is it in the free-spirited, truth seeking Sagittarius but Black Moon Lilith has stepped in to form a challenging opposition to the moon at this time urging you to choose your own needs and to stop hiding from your own darkness.
Whatever intense emotions come up for you at this time can be transmuted from pain into power as the moon receives support from Chiron, our courageous wounded healer and it seems fitting that this asteroid play an important role as Sagittarius is based on the myth of Chiron.
This is a powerful portal energy that supports you in expressing your true self no matter how raw and unsavory while pushing past insecurities and keeping your eye on the prize. Think of this new moon solar eclipse as the most perfect soil…. there’s no fruit yet but if you plant the seeds of change at this time, the fruits will exceed your wildest expectations.
